The Department of Mathematics, Mangaldai College in collaboration with Assam Academy of Mathematics, Darrang branch celebrated National Mathematics Day on 22nd December 2022 to honor the birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. The event aimed to promote mathematical learning and foster a love for the subject among students. The celebration began with an inaugural ceremony, presided over by the Principal of Mangaldai College Dr. Kamala Kanta Borah. In his welcome address, the Principal emphasized the significance of mathematics in various fields and its impact on scientific advancements. The event was graced by Dr. Bamdeb Dey, Assistant Professor, Assam Don Bosco University who delivered the keynote address. Dr. Dey highlighted Ramanujans contributions to the world of mathematics and encouraged students to explore the subject with curiosity and passion. Overall, the National Mathematics Day celebration at Mangaldai College was an enriching experience, encouraging students to explore and enjoy the wonders of mathematics.
